| December 11 |
Advent reflection at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii,
Chicago, IL The Shrine offers annual Advent reflection
days. This year Stauros will lead the event as we
anticipate the birth of Our Lord.

| January 17 |
Amy Florian leads an evening of reflection on the place
of sign, symbol, and sacrament in our spirituality.
Participants explore the potential for healing, the
transcendent power, and the instinctual attraction of
these aspects of our faith.

| February 8 |
Class for the Institute for Religious
Formation, Chicago, IL.
Stauros leads a class and reflection on dealing with
grief and loss in the formation process for the
Institute for Religious Formation at Catholic
Theological Union in Chicago.

February 27 - March
1 |
Three-day Lenten mission, Annapolis, Maryland. This
mission centers on facing the difficulties and trials in
our lives as we walk with Christ to the cross, always
keeping hope centered on the resurrection.

| March 6 |
Donna Pena is a nationally known bi-lingual liturgical
musician. Her songs, including "I Say Yes, My Lord/Digo
Si, Senor" are sung in
parishes across the country. Stauros co-sponsors Donna
in conjunction with the Oscar Romero Program of Catholic
Theological Union and the Diocesan Hispanic Ministry of
Vicariate 6 in this wonderful workshop/concert in order
to make her talents and knowledge available to Hispanic
parishes on the south side of Chicago who otherwise
could not afford such an event. |
| March 4-5 |
Great Lakes Ministry Assembly, Lisle IL – workshop
session on helping children grieve. The Assembly is a
retreat-like conference for anyone involved in pastoral
ministry. In addition to helping prepare the liturgies
and serving in the prayer services, Amy Florian will
give a breakout session aimed at helping youth
ministers, catechists, principals, and anyone who works
with children as they learn how to recognize and assist
a child in grief.

| March 17-18 |
This mini-mission on facing our sufferings in light of
faith is led by Amy Florian for the members of all
parishes and congregations in the Bloomington Indiana
area. |
| Spring semester |
Class entitled “Ministry with the Ill, the Dying, and
the Grieving”, Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola
University. The class will be offered on six Saturdays
in Romeoville, IL. This six-day class explores all
aspects of pastoral ministry with those who are sick,
the terminally ill, and the bereaved. It is a fully
accredited graduate course, and participants will
receive credit from Loyola University.

| May 27-30 |
Easter mission, McHenry Illinois It is human to
reflect on significant experiences in our lives. In this
mission, participants look back at the Lent and Easter
seasons for spiritual insights, growth, and challenge. |
| June 20- 24 |
As part of the Summer Institute at Catholic Theological
Union, Stauros offers a 5-day class on helping children
grieve. Instruction is aimed at youth ministers,
principals, catechists, and anyone involved on a regular
basis with young people. |
| July 11 |
Summer Institute class, St. Norbert’s College, DuPere,
Wisconsin. This one-day class centers on recognizing
and healing from the losses in our lives, both large and
small.

| July 21-25 |
Conference coordinator for National Catholic AIDS/HIV
Network, held at Loyola University, Chicago IL. This
annual conference centers on ministry with and among
people suffering from AIDS and HIV, especially those who
are on the margins and alone.

Watch for upcoming offerings,
including an evening concert of music for healing and
compassion, and a retreat to be offered in the Chicago
area.
In addition, the Stauros Center for
Compassion and Healing is working in partnership with
the Holy Cross Province (Congregation of the Passion) to
develop a Bureau of Passionist Presenters. These women
and men, both vowed and lay, will be available for
seminars, workshops and retreats across the nation.
