Integrating Technology to Enhance Mission

by Ardis Cloutier, OSF

Last fall the Stauros Board of Directors approved an exciting and innovative means to get the message of Stauros out to more people. The program involves cable television, radio and the internet.

First of all, Stauros is in the process of producing videotapes to be shown on cable television. The videos will include subjects that are appropriate to the mission of Stauros. Nine such videotapes have been filmed thus far and another twelve to fifteen are in the offing. Currently, these videos are being shown in the Chicago area, but the plan is to distribute them to cable stations all over the country. While we would like to provide our readers with specific information about these programs via the Notebook, this will very likely not be practical. Please check with your community cable stations or the internet for information.

The videos will be available for purchase. Information about this will be disseminated through the Notebook.

Secondly, the audio portion of the video- tapes will be distributed to university and college radio stations throughout the nation.

Thirdly, Stauros now has a web page on the internet. You may access it through www.stauros.org.

This is a bold and thrilling venture for Stauros: using modern technology to spread the word about this unique ministry to and with persons who suffer.
